Fiberboard is an engineered wood product made from wood fibers, and types of fiberboard (in order of increasing density) include particleboard or low-density fiberboard (LDF), medium-density fiberboard (MDF), and hardboard (high-density fiberboard, HDF) ).

It is sometimes used as a synonym for particleboard, but particleboard usually refers to low-density fiberboard. Plywood is not a type of fiberboard because it is made of thin wood, not wood fibers or pellets. Fibreboard, especially MDF, is used in large quantities in the furniture industry. For visible parts, wood veneer is usually glued to fiberboard to give it the look of traditional wood.

In the packaging industry, PP wood fiber board is often used to describe tough kraft-based paperboard or corrugated board, "fiberboard" is also an intermediate product, the output of a pulp mill used as input to a paper mill.

Fiberboards are classified by ASTMC208, Standard Specification for Cellulose Fiber Insulation Boards, which have many advantages and can be used in residential and commercial buildings.

Applications include: Acoustic/Acoustic Soundproofing, Structural Sheathing, Low Slope Roofing, Acoustic Floor Liners, Fibreboard is also used in the automotive industry to create freeform shapes such as dashboards, rear parcel shelves and interior door shells. These parts are usually covered with leather, foil or fabric such as cloth, suede, leather or PVC.
